Web3 Staff Software Engineer, Python Backend
Job Description
We are currently looking for a staff Python backend engineer to work on core trading functionalities. Your work will include building trading strategies, researching new data sources, designing and improving the research and trading systems.
You will work very closely with traders, infrastructure engineers, and data engineers. The role is ideal for a candidate with strong programming and analytic skills who is interested to work on building new high-performance systems and developing their knowledge of system architecture, as well as of finance and trading. Crypto exchange experience is not required, but interest in financial and crypto markets would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve solutions of the whole data life-cycle, including ingestion, storage, processing, warehouse, and machine learning
Deploy and manage daily operation of our market data loggers and ensure data is stored efficiently and securely across cloud and on-premise solutions (S3/NAS/DFS)
Work closely with Infra team and quant researchers to set up and maintain data pipelines that prepare raw market data for machine learning research and simulations
Help build a team and cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams
Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features
Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise
Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, and coding standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
8 years of relevant work experience in software development
Experience in software development using a general purpose programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Go, Objective-C, and/or Swift)
Experience architecting and developing distributed systems design
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction
Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
Interest and ability to learn other coding languages
